Jonathan Fouch

Chief Technology Officer

Jonathan Fouch is Shea Law’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), responsible for overseeing the firm’s technology needs and ensuring that clients have an efficient and user-friendly online platform for estate planning. He is a committed professional who has dedicated most of his career to developing and improving innovative tools to provide families with a secure, streamlined, and efficient way to protect their legacy through technology.

Jonathan began his career at Shea in 2011 as an estate planning paralegal, drafting thousands of estate plans, from basic wills to complex trusts for million-dollar estates. From 2014 to 2016, he served as a liaison to the firm’s biggest client, a large financial planning conglomerate, and was named CTO in 2016. As CTO, Jonathan created Shea’s innovative online estate planning platform, Dolphin Trust, which clients can access through the firm’s website and custom design their estate plan with a simple and intuitive user interface. Since its inception, this platform has been utilized by 4,000 clients to create estate plans for review by in-house attorneys. In 2021, Jonathan added the ability for this software to generate the estate planning documents themselves.

Prior to joining Shea, Jonathan co-founded Excellence for Detroit, a nonprofit organization that helped hundreds of high school students in Detroit prepare for college success and has helped them receive over a half-million dollars in scholarship money. He also started History Creators, a digitalization company that preserves photos and movie film for clients throughout the country. Jonathan largely works with individuals, families, and organizations to preserve their history through digital means.

Jonathan graduated magna cum laude from Oakland University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and German Language and Literature. He is a member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals.

Outside of work, Jonathan revels in his role of official storyteller for his group of longtime friends, cherishing the memories and narratives that bring people together. He enjoys traveling, whether it’s to Europe or to small towns throughout the Midwest. He is also a tech enthusiast, especially when it comes to Apple products. He lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan, just outside of Detroit.

Legacy is more than just assets and financial plans. It’s about preserving histories, memories, and stories. Legacy is the story that one leaves behind, and ensuring it’s well protected and cherished is of utmost importance. I’m proud to play a role in helping make that happen for so many people.
