Ashley Shea

Ashley Shea

Ashley Shea is a Shea Law attorney who works in the firm’s litigation and probate departments. She manages Shea’s probate department and works closely with Shea CEO David Shea in litigating mass and class actions and commercial contingency cases, as well as in managing all legal issues for Hantz Group as General Counsel.

Ashley’s unique perspective on estate planning comes from the standpoint of someone whose professional responsibilities often involve assisting clients whose decedents had missing or incomplete estate plans. She sees firsthand the frustration and difficulty involved in navigating an often long and grueling probate process—especially while grieving. Those experiences have reaffirmed her passionate belief in the importance of affordable and accessible estate planning for all. An accomplished and empathic advocate and advisor, Ashley feels a profound sense of achievement and pride when she is able to helping resolve even the smallest problems for grateful clients.

Ashley graduated from Michigan State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies and a minor in Sociology. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University College of Law in 2017.

One of my favorite quotes is Albert Einstein’s advice that you should try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value. In the litigation world, I’ve learned that being that person of value for a client isn’t always about fighting tooth and nail to the bitter end. In most cases, ‘zealous advocacy’ is more about taking the time to get to know your clients, to understand their problems and concerns, and to figure out how to get to the heart of the matter by finding a creative and mutually agreeable compromise to which everyone can agree.
