Shea Law Firm, PLLC, doing business as Shea Law (“Shea Law,” “we,” “us”), offers two separate text messaging programs. Each program has its own consent and sends from its own phone number. The sections after Program 2 apply to both programs.
Client Notifications
Client Notifications is for clients and prospective clients. Messages may include appointment reminders and confirmations, scheduling communications, requests for documents or information, and general updates about your legal matter. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program. Messages are delivered through our messaging provider, Twilio.
Consent. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, whether through our client portal, in your retainer agreement, or verbally with a member of our staff, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Shea Law at the number you provided. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of retaining our services.
Frequency and costs. Message frequency varies based on your matter and appointments. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile carrier’s plan.
Shea Law Updates
Shea Law Updates is a marketing program. Messages may include follow-ups about consultations you requested, invitations to seminars and events, and news about the Firm and our services. Messages are delivered through our marketing platform, HubSpot.
Consent. By checking the text message consent box on a form on our Website, including our landing pages at estateplans.shealaw.com, and providing your mobile phone number, you agree to receive recurring marketing text messages from Shea Law at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of retaining our services.
Frequency and costs. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile carrier’s plan.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number to opt in to either program.
Opting Out and Help
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also reply CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, or STOPALL. After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming your request, and no further messages will be sent from that program unless you opt in again. Because each program sends from its own phone number, replying STOP stops only the program that sent the message. To stop both programs, reply STOP to a message from each, or contact us. Opting out of text messages does not affect our attorney-client relationship or other communications with you.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at 248-354-0224 or [email protected].
Confidentiality and Security
Text messaging is not a secure method of communication. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information by text, including Social Security numbers, account numbers, passwords, or detailed information about your legal matter. We will not ask you to provide this type of information by text. If you need to share sensitive information, please call our office or use our client portal.
Text messages are not a substitute for legal advice given during consultations or in written correspondence. Texting with our office, or receiving texts from us, does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.
Changes to Your Number
If you change or give up the mobile number you opted in with, please notify us or reply STOP from that number so we do not send messages to its new owner.
Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
We handle your mobile information as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with an updated “Last updated” date.
